Community Art Showcase

The Community Art Showcase, curated by ArtFest Fort Myers, is an exciting program initiated by Harborside Event Center and the Fort Myers Conference & Convention Council to offer artists and the community an opportunity to enjoy wonderful artwork in a grand setting. The Showcase is open to the public from 10am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.  Attending the exhibition is free and the artwork is for sale. The entrance to the Showcase is through the Administrative Office located on Monroe Street.

Examples of the diverse exhibits are:

Creative Students Unleashed: this exhibition opens on May 1, 2009 featuring works by talented Lee County high school students. The upcoming school budget cuts may affect the funding of the arts in our public school system. This exhibit is to applaud-appreciate-focus-and-champion the impact of art on the remarkable young adults in our community who express themselves and reflect their world in an impactful way.
Summer 2009

Art Council of Southwest Florida: opening on Febrary 26, 2009, this exhibit shows work from the local art leagues. This show is to help promote an appreciation for art in Southwest Florida as well as bring the local art community together.
Spring 2009

Highlights of ArtFest Fort Myers: this exhibit opens on December 5, 2008 and features seven spectacular contemporary artists who will be exhibiting at ArtFest Fort Myers on February 7-8, 2009. This show represents a braod array of two dimensional art from a group of local artists who compete nationally in their mediums.  
Winter 2008

A Latin Art Affair: opening on September 19, 2008, a Latin Art Affair is a fine art exhibition celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month. This cutting edge show features seven local Latino artists whose works are as diverse and electrifying as their countries of origin: David Acevedo, Amarilis Veliz, Mayra and Denis Velez, Juan Diaz, and Rey Llanes marques. Our very special featured guest artist is Marcus Antonius Jansen.
Fall 2008

Art Council of Southwest Florida Spring Juried Show: opening March 12, 2008, this exhibit showcases the best-of-the-best artists from Southwest Florida's twelve art leagues.

Fabric of Life
: an exhibit of thirty spectacular contemporary art quilts created by the members of Art Quilters Unlimited.  This juried show represented a broad array of fiber wall art from artists who compete nationally in their medium, and bring the excitement of color and design to this fine craft.
Winter 2007

A Latin Art Affair:  a cutting edge exhibit featuring five local Latin artists whose works are as diverse and electrifying as their countries of origin: Doris Ramos (Venezuela), Ernesto Masis (Costa Rica), Juan Diaz (Columbian), Amarillis Veliz (Cuba) and Lidia Dick (Argentina).
Fall 2007


Florida – Near and Far: an exhibit showcasing two photographers who captured, each with their own perspective, the bounty and beauty of nature that surrounds us. Featured photographers were Doug & Leah Cavanah and Marc Duke.

ArtFest Fort Myers 

ArtFest Fort Myers, Southwest Florida’s fine art festival, takes place in beautiful downtown Fort Myers on the 1st weekend in February. Each year, Fort Myers celebration of art decorates downtown with exceptional artwork, entertainment and children’s art activities.

Over 200 nationally recognized professional artists from across the country and around the world can be seen. Original oils and acrylics, vibrant watercolor, unique sculpture and wood, dazzling jewelry, decorative ceramics, glittering glass, imaginative mixed media and vivid photography provide something for everyone’s collection and budget.

ArtFest Fort Myers supports the visual arts, literacy and other worthy projects in Lee County through a variety of special exhibits and programs including:
