The public's interest in leisure reading is renewed as the festival authors are announced. People hear an author speak at the festival and are inspired to borrow or buy the book - maybe even to write one of their own!

The Nations Association Charities celbrates the Fourth Annual Scholarship Gala, "Beyond the Mask". This evening will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for these youths as we celbrate their lives, efforts and potential. Each of these hardworking and deserving students will be rewarded with a fabulous, formal "coming out party". They'll be presented to the community at large as our special guests of honor for this evening, dressed in formal wear and escorted by community leaders. At the end of the evening, we will be awarding scholarships to institutions of higher learning to a number of them based on individual merit including factors such as financial need, academics and their personal community outreach efforts.

Lee County families are invited to join us to celebrate back-to-school and multiculturalism. Enjoy live multicultural youth entertainment on the main stage. Kids will enjoy inflatable bounce houses and slides, facepainting, book mobile, giveaways and more. Kids will recieve bicycle helmets, eye exams, and fingerprinting. The first 2,000 or more children ages 5-12 will receive free backpacks and school supplies (while supplies last). Children must be present with parent or guardian to receive the free supplies.
